Why do I need to provide my Social Security Number? And what happens if I don't?
In order to apply, work, and get paid we will need to collect your Social Security Number to verify your tax eligibility. Note: Work eligibility cannot be verified without this information.
When you are creating your Jobble account, you will be asked several questions to complete your Basic Profile and your Banking information.
The Jobble app does require that you submit a valid Social Security Number (SSN).
We need this piece of information to verify your work and tax eligibility. As a Jobbler, you accept work as Independent Contractor and are responsible for filing your own taxes. Other gig work platforms, like Uber and Wonolo, also require this piece of information in order to work.
What happens if I don't give my SSN or give a fake one?
To keep our payments secure, we use Stripe Processing, which is the top mobile payment processing service. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor, and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of security certification available.
Payments will not be verified and sent to an account if these pieces of information are not valid:
-
Full Legal Name
-
Date of Birth
-
Social Security Number
Even if you enter valid banking information, that Basic Profile information must be correct to receive direct deposit payments through Jobble. If the information does not match, the funds will not fully transfer to your account.
